Famous Classical Gardens of Suzhou |
Suzhou is China's well-known "city of gardens", which tops all others in both the number and the artistry of gardens. Dating from Pi Jiang Garden of the Eastern Jing Dynasty,Suzhou's art of gardening has undergone a history of 1, 500 years. There were once over 200 gardens in the city, and 69 of them are still in good preservation today. The concept of Suzhou classical gardens has gone beyond the city limits, since it generally refers to all those private gardens built in the regions south of the Yangtze. |

Hangzhou--the Paradise in the world |
West Lake is located in the western area of Hangzhou City's center. It is surrounded by mountains on three sides, with an area of around 6.5 square kilometers. The circumference is around 15 kilometers. The lake is divided by Gu Shan, Bai, Su and Yanggong Causeways into five areas. Ordered by their areas, they are Outer West Lake, West Inner Lake, North Inner Lake, Little South Lake and Yue Lake. The basic layout is "one hill, two causeways, three islands, and five lakes".West Lake is not only famous for its picturesque landscape, it is also associated with many scholars, national heroes and revolutionary martyrs, thus embracing many aspects of Chinese culture. In addition, many ancient buildings, stone caves and engraved tablets in surrounding areas are among the most cherished national treasures of China, with significant artistic value. |
|
Wuhan -- known as Chicago city of China |
Wuhan is located at the central part of China ,almost wholly located in the Jianghan Plain; sitting at the confluence of the world's third longest river, namely the Yangtze River and its longest branch Hansui River.
Wuhan is known as the "Homeland of White Clouds and Yellow Crane" and is one of China´s largest cities. There are many scenic spots and historical sites in and around Wuhan, one is the Yellow Crane Tower with its 1,700 years of history. This tower is one of the five famous towers in China. Another "must" is the East Lake whose natural beauty is famous all over Asia. |
